Hospitals and clinics treating Tongue tie (child)

Ankyloglossia (tongue-tie) is a birth defect in which a baby's tongue is tightly connected to the floor of the mouth by a lingual frenulum. The lingual frenulum in such babies is short and restricts tongue movements. It also makes feeding difficult and creates problems for the mother as well. Treatment is not necessary if feeding is not affected. A simple surgical procedure called tongue-tie division is performed when the baby can not feed properly. It is a simple and painless procedure which involves cutting the tight piece of the lingual frenulum.
