Hospitals and clinics treating Thrombophilia

Thrombophilia is a clotting disorder. It is an abnormality in the blood clotting mechanism leading to an increased tendency to form a blood clot. The balance between coagulation and anticoagulation is disturbed in thrombophilia. It may be congenital or acquired later in life. Most common symptoms are deep venous thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE).  Factor V Leiden is the most common type of inherited thrombophilia. Treatment is not always recommended for thrombophilia. When necessary, treatment is done with warfarin tablets or a heparin injection.
