Hospitals and clinics treating Throat cancer

Laryngeal cancer is an uncommon type of cancer that develops inside the voice box (larynx). The cause is a mutation in the DNA structure that leads to an uncontrolled growth of laryngeal tissue. Symptoms are hoarseness of voice, a lump in the neck, a persistent cough, halitosis, stridor and earache. Risk factors are smoking, alcohol use, family history and an unhealthy diet. Diagnosis is made by laryngoscopy, biopsy, CT scan and MRI. Early stage cancers are treated with surgery or radiotherapy. Surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy are used in combination for later stage cancers. The entire larynx is removed by an ENT surgeon in most severe cases.
