A trapped shoulder tendon is known as impingement syndrome. It is caused by damage to a tendon in the shoulder. Common treatment options are resting the shoulder, NSAIDs, ice packs, physiotherapy, steroid injections and surgery. Surgery is recommended if calcium deposits have formed in the tendon. The technique used is an arthroscopy. An arthroscope is used to see inside the tendon and repair the damage that has occurred.
