Shoulder arthroscopy is keyhole surgery used to diagnose and treat the cause of shoulder sprain and some other shoulder joint disorders such as damage to the rotator cuff. Small cuts are made by the surgeon over the shoulder joint for the arthroscope to pass through and remove any damaged tissue or bone spurs. It offers less post-operative pain and quicker recovery after the surgery compared to open surgery although physiotherapy is still recommended.
