Hospitals and clinics providing Pregnancy screen (nuchal translucency screen)

The nuchal translucency screen is performed when a woman is between 11 and 14 weeks pregnant. The scan can be carried out at the same time as the dating scan. A nuchal translucency scan is done to check the baby’s risk of having Down’s syndrome and or other congenital anomalies. This is a non-invasive procedure and involves an ultrasound scan plus a blood test. The ultrasound measures the clear space at the back of the developing baby’s neck to diagnose. The information from both tests is translated to show whether the baby has Down's syndrome.
