Laparoscopic greater curvature placation (LGCP) is a surgical procedure to treating obesity. The steps involved in this procedure are exactly the same as those for a gastric sleeve. The difference comes at the point of transecting and removing the stomach. In the gastric plication the stomach is folded into itself vertically, using two layers of sutures or clips. The stomach is neither transected nor removed. No staples are used and complications are fewer than with other methods.
