Hospitals and clinics treating Edward syndrome

Edward syndrome is a genetic disorder which is also known as trisomy 18. Most babies with Edward syndrome are stillborn, and those that manage to survive are born with a very low birth weight. Babies have characteristic features: a small head, a small mouth and jaw, long overlapping fingers with short fingernails, smooth feet with a rounded base and small, low-set ears. They may also have poor growth and development plus a host of congenital disorders. There is no cure for Edward’s syndrome.
