Ear pinning or ear reshaping is a cosmetic surgery that is used to improve the appearance of protruding ears. There are two kinds of ear pinning: ear splinting which involves resetting the soft cartilage of the ears and using a splint to keep the ears in place, and pinnaplasty, pinning back the ears, where a piece of cartilage is used to create the missing folds and to place the ear in a position closer to the head.
