A CT scan, which stands for computerized tomography scan, uses x-rays through a computer to allow the radiologist to spot potential diseases and conditions. The scans are usually time lapsed and these reveal a lot about any condition of organs or tissues. CT scans may also be used to monitor the progress of a treatment and other health conditions such as the growth of a tumour or the progress of cancer treatments.
