Hospitals and clinics providing Coronary angioplasty

Coronary angioplasty is a surgical procedure to open the blood vessels that supply blood to the heart muscle. When the blood vessels to the heart are occluded with plaque, blood is unable to pass through. A tiny balloon is inserted into a blocked artery by a cardiologist and then stretched open to remove the occlusion. A short tube or a wire mesh is left in the balloon’s place in order to keep the artery open and allow the blood to flow unobstructed. It is used for conditions in which the arteries are blocked or restricted such as arterial thrombosis or an atheroma which if not treated could lead to a heart attack. A coronary angiography can be used to detect a blockage within the artery.
