In this rare condition, the body’s own immune system attacks the adrenal gland responsible for production of certain hormones. Patients present with very non-specific symptoms such as weight loss, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea/constipation, dizziness, etc. Blood tests to measure hormone levels are necessary to find the diagnosis and patients are then treated by receiving artificial hormones orally or through injections.
