Consultant Paediatrician
Dr Abraham graduated in medicine from Ambedkar University in Maharashtra, India. He completed his specialty training in paediatrics in India, receiving the National Merit Scholarship from the Indian government. He then worked in Oman, where he received the Appreciation Award for excellence in Paediatrics from the Ministry of Health, Oman.
Dr Abraham has worked as a paediatrician and educator in the UK for over 20 years. Since 2013 he has been a Consultant Paediatrician at the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham where he sees children with a wide range of problems, including critically ill emergency cases.
Dr Abraham is educational supervisor for paediatric trainees at Nottingham University and serves as a panel member in their selection process. He is also an examiner for international medical graduates. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Dr Abraham is the clinical audit lead for paediatrics and serves on the governance committee at Nottingham Hospital.
Dr Abraham is experienced in the management of an extensive range of medical conditions affecting children from new-born through to adolescence. His experience gained in Oman and India has provided him with the skills necessary to manage a diverse range of medical conditions in children. In the UK, he has worked in the fields of general paediatrics, paediatric allergy, paediatric neuro-disability and epilepsy. He specialises in the management of acute, common and rare illness in children, including fits, headache, wheeze, asthma, eczema, food allergies, constipation, urine infections, feeding disorders and food intolerances.
With excellent communication skills and a passion for treating children, Dr Abraham prides himself on his ability to establish a rapport with his patients and their families. He is fluent in five Indian dialects.
