Easing the load with Breast Reduction

While some would kill to have had a cleavage as busty as that of the young Drew Barrymore or Ariel Winter, they saw it mostly as an inconvenience. While many look to increase the size of their breasts, those wanting to rid themselves of their loads are steadily increasing.

A physical and emotional struggle

The relationship Drew Barrymore had with her breasts was not a pleasant one. On top of weighing Drew down physically, their size also drew unwanted attention and damaged her confidence till she chose to have Breast Reduction surgery (Mannoplasty).

She explains: “There’s something very awkward about women and their breasts because men look at them so much. When they’re huge, you become very self-conscious. Your back hurts. You find that whatever you wear, you look heavy in. It’s uncomfortable.

Ariel Winter, one of the stars of Modern Family, opted for the same solution more recently and spoke very openly about it. She revealed to Glamour Magazine that by the age of 15, her size F breasts made her ‘hurt so bad that she couldn’t stand the pain’. She also disliked how her cleavage made more headlines than her acting, and considering that she’s still underage, many headlines and comment were a far cry from appropriate.

That’s pretty much all I was known for and that upset me. It made me feel really uncomfortable because as women in the industry, we are totally over sexualized and treated like objects. Every article that has to do with me on a red carpet always had to do with ‘Ariel Winter’s Crazy Cleavage!’ Or ‘Ariel Winter Shows Huge Boobs At An Event!’ That’s all people would recognize me by, not, “Oh, she does great work on Modern Family” Ariel explained.

Now, she couldn’t be happier and has repeatedly claimed to feel ‘like a new person’ who can carry out daily activities normally. Drew and her had many reasons for reducing their breast size, but both are all the happier for it.

Mammoplasty, or Breast Reduction Surgery

Most recent figures from the British Association of Aesthetic and Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS), show that in 2015, Mammoplasty or Breast Reduction procedures had gone up by 13%. Many surgeons believe that Ariel’s frankness about her experience has played an important role in raising awareness about the treatment and how it has affected her life positively.

The main goal of the procedure is to reduce the volume, weight and size of your breasts by getting rid of excess skin, glandular tissue, and fat. This is usually done by creating an incision lining the areola, followed by a vertical one that leads to the breast’s crease, where the last cut is made. Alternative techniques involve stopping at the crease, or only going around the areola.

When all’s been removed, the size of your areola and positioning of your nipples can be altered and you have the possibility of opting for a Breast Uplift to make sure that the loss in volume doesn’t leave you with a sagging chest.

During an Breast Uplift (Mastopexy), all excess skin is removed make your breasts toned and full in appearance, while making sure that they’re positioned correctly and pulled up.

You’ll need a couple of weeks to recover, but once that’s done, you’ll feel like a huge burden has been lifted.
