The rotator cuff is a group of muscles and tendons over the shoulder joint, if injured or even torn they can require surgery to repair. Surgery is performed under general anaesthetic, though the invasiveness depends on the techniques used and the amount of damage that needs to be repaired.
A number of injuries to the rotator cuff tendons and ligaments can be treated with physiotherapy.
