Simon Marsh trained at Trinity College Cambridge and the Clinical School, Addenbrookes Hospital. He was one of the few students to be awarded the William Harvey Studentship in consecutive years. His MD thesis, from the University of Cambridge focused on the role of growth factors in breast cancer. He is Senior Consultant Surgeon in the Colchester Breast Unit in Essex and has been a member of the team at 108 Harley Street since 1999. Following qualification at Cambridge Simon also developed an interest in sports medicine, especially equestrian, motorcycle events and rugby. Simon’s surgical skill and expertise has ensured that he has received full insurance company recognition for the specialised “Gilmore’s Groin” procedure as well as being approved for all other procedures. Simon is also a specialist in local anesthetic procedures working closely with The Mole Clinic for excision of suspicious lesions in the One Stop Day Surgery Centre. In 2006 he halved his workload within the NHS to dedicate more time to the clinics at 108 Harley Street including establishing The London Thyroid Clinic. He retains an active interest in cancer research. |
